At the end of May 2021, I travelled back to Slovenia to meet with my friends and family. I decided to do a voice recording every time I met someone for the first time and later see what I could do with the gathered material.

Central to my vision for this project was to maintain a delicate balance between the significance of voice recordings and videos, without privileging one over the other. Subtitles emerged as the primary visual element, serving to complement the videos while preserving the authenticity of the spoken word. Omitting music from the subtitles was a deliberate choice, emphasising their connection to the domestic space rather than the ambient backdrop of the voice recordings.
